TPG is the commercial persona and alternate ego of Denis O'Brien.

I am a patent attorney registered with the Virginia State Bar and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  (USPTO registration # 42,947.) My PhD is in pharmacology; my research field was neuropharmacology at the University of Virginia and Harvard.  My bachelors is in biology -- Ohio State University.

Before becoming a patent attorney I obtained three patents, and so I know the frustrations of being a small-time inventor facing very large costs for protecting good ideas.  I founded Cosmosis in 1998 with the goal of offering "small-entity" inventors -- individuals and small businesses -- quality patent services at a reasonable cost.  In 2007 I left the solo practice and the US and joined Cliff Vermette at Vermette & Co in Vancouver, B.C., a firm specializing in international patent protection.  I specialize in US practice, and continue to enjoy working with small-entity inventors and their unique problems.
